What does the paint color matcher do?
It takes any color you enter, a hex value, a paint name, or another brand's code, and finds the closest real paint to it across all six brands. You get the nearest matches ranked by how similar they look, not by how close the numbers happen to be.
How is a match calculated?
By perceptual color distance, so the ranking reflects how different two colors look to the eye. Every result shows its LRV and undertone so you can see whether a match sits lighter, darker, warmer, or cooler than what you started with.
Which brands does it search?
Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, Behr, Valspar, PPG, and Farrow and Ball. You can search all of them at once or lock the results to a single brand from that brand's own matcher page.
Is the matcher free?
